What is Non-Carbon Required (NCR) or Carbonless Copy Paper?

NCR Paper, otherwise known as Carbonless Copy Paper, is coated with millions of microcapsules and resin that enables the transfer of an image from writing or mechanical pressure without the use of a carbon medium. Carbonless Copy Paper mainly used as business forms and official documents which are widely used in the public and commercial sector.

The development of NCR PAPER brand of carbonless paper dates back to the late 1940s when researchers were asked to develop a technique for printing without using ink rolls or ribbons

How does Pacidunia's Carbonless Copy Paper function?

Pacidunia's NCR Paper comes in the form of two or more multi-ply sheets and are prudently coated with a combination of

non-toxic chemicals, dyes and microscopic capsules. Pacidunia produces three kinds of NCR paper:-

  1. Back Coating (CB)
  2. Front and Back Coating (CFB);and,
  3. Front Coating (CF)
 CB is the top sheet of a milti-ply form. The sheet contains colourless dyes and oils that are sealed at the back of the paper in microcapsules which can be broken with the application of pressure.
CFB, the middle sheet of the multi-ply form, is coated with resin, which in turn, reacts with the colourless dyes and microcapsules at the back of the paper.
CF is the bottom sheet of the multi-ply form. The front side of this sheet is laced with resin. The resin reacts with the colourless dyes released from the broken capsules and produces a colour on the CF surface, similar to the impression of the imaging pressure.
